Overview
Teenydoku doesn't collect any data about you or your child, and everything it saves stays on your iPad or iPhone.
Teenydoku is a sudoku game for children, made by me, James Hemson. This page explains what the app keeps on your device and how to delete it.
Data collection
Teenydoku doesn't collect or send any personal data. Its App Store privacy label says Data Not Collected.
- No account or sign-in is needed
- No ads are shown
- No analytics or tracking is used
- Nothing can be bought inside the app
- No third-party code is included
- The app never connects to the internet
Each time I build Teenydoku, a check runs automatically. It stops the build if code for ads, analytics, tracking, payments or the internet gets into the app, or if the app ever asks for a permission such as the camera or your location.
What stays on your device
Teenydoku saves a few things so each child can carry on where they stopped:
- Each child's animal picture, and a name if a parent typed one
- Each child's stars, and how many puzzles they've solved at each size and level
- Each child's puzzle in progress, and the grid size and stars they last chose
- The Sound, Haptics and Show clashes switches in Settings
- Whether the how-to-play has been shown, and whether the first child has picked their animal, so each only happens once
None of this is sent to me or to anyone else, and it isn't synced through iCloud. It stays on the device, apart from your own iPad or iPhone backups.
Removing a child in Settings deletes their picture, name, stars, puzzle counts and saved puzzle. Deleting the app deletes everything it saved.
Children's privacy
Teenydoku is made for children aged 4 to 7 and is in the App Store's Kids category. It doesn't collect anything about children, so nothing about them can be shared.
Settings, every link out of the app, and adding a child from "Who's playing?" sit behind a question for grown-ups: type a number written in words, such as "forty-seven". A wrong answer goes back to the screen you were on.
Third-party services
Teenydoku doesn't use any third-party services or SDKs.
If you've turned on Share With App Developers in your device's privacy settings, Apple may share crash reports with me. Apple handles those under its own privacy policy. Teenydoku itself sends nothing.
